Stories of Taipei landmarks

Discover Taipei on a virtual Taiwan walk

Touch Your Taiwan is a virtual walk through Taipei on a small, playful three-dimensional map. Explore at your own pace, from the plaza of Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall to Taipei 101, Longshan Temple and the night market. Read the stories behind these places and take an animal companion along, or enjoy a quiet solo walk. The guide below introduces real landmarks, while the buildings and interiors in the game are stylized interpretations rather than a live tour. Before a real visit, check official information for current opening hours and admission rules. Virtual night-market activities do not place real orders or take payments.

Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall

Opened in 1980 to commemorate Chiang Kai-shek, the blue-roofed hall and broad plaza are landmarks of Taipei’s history and public life.

Taipei 101

Opened in 2004, Taipei’s signature skyscraper is known for its bamboo-like tiers and enormous tuned mass damper.

Longshan Temple

Founded in 1738, Longshan Temple is a major center of worship in Manka. Guanyin is its principal deity, alongside many others, beneath richly decorated roofs.

Raohe Street Night Market

A roughly 600-metre street in the former trading district of Xikou, organized as a night market in 1987. Food and everyday-goods stalls line the street from its entrance beside Ciyou Temple.

The Red House

Built in 1908 as a market, this octagonal red-brick landmark now hosts performance, design, and creative activity in Ximending.
